"...leaving Hibernation Mode on might cause problems."
Hibernation Mode is a feature designed to save system resources and it applies only to watchlists. When the Hibernation Mode option is checked it will prevent any rows that are not currently visible in the watchlist from updating.
So, for example, if you have a watchlist containing 500 symbols and only 20 are visible based on how you have sized the watchlist component, then only those 20 symbols will be updating in realtime and the remaining 480 symbols will be dormant.
Now if you are only using your watchlist to display one or more of the built-in columns (such as Last, Change, 52w High, 52w Low, etc.) then the Hibernation Mode setting is probably irrelevant. However if you have set up columns to display values from real indicators (built-in or EFS) that might generate alerts, or might be used for a custom watchlist auto-sort, then leaving Hibernation Mode on might cause problems.
The safest approach is to just turn it off. To do so:
- Click somewhere in your watchlist to select it;
- Click on the Watch List menu option at the top of the eSignal application;
- Click on the Hibernation Mode option to remove the checkmark.
- Right-click in the body of the watchlist;
- Highlight the Style Templates option in the menu;
- Click on the Set as Default option in the menu that pops up.
